Markies Music Fest

One of Oban’s most loved live music weekends is getting ready to strike up the band once again as the Markie Dans Music Festival returns this summer. The much-anticipated festival will be bringing three days of fantastic live music, great food and a buzzing festival atmosphere to the heart of the town. Tucked away beneath Corran House on Oban’s waterfront, Markie Dans has long been a favourite with locals and visitors alike. Famous for its warm welcome, lively entertainment and stunning beer garden views across the bay, the venue comes alive each year when the festival takes centre stage. And organisers say this year’s event is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever. Music fans can look forward to a lively mix of established performers and exciting new talent, including bands such as CHUNKS and Raised by Clams, ensuring there is something for every musical taste across the weekend. Whether you fancy dancing into the evening, relaxing in the beer garden with a cold pint while enjoying the harbour views, or discovering some brilliant new artists, the festival promises a weekend packed with great entertainment. Food will also be available throughout the weekend, with a full menu served daily from 12 noon until 9pm, helping festival-goers stay fuelled without missing any of the action. And there is something for all ages too. Sunday will be Family Funday, with entertainment from Alfie Arthur Robertson, making it the perfect day for families to join the celebrations. So if you love live music, good food and a fantastic community atmosphere, make sure Markie Dans is on your calendar this summer.
