Welcome to CowalFest Argyll 2023, your five day passport to walks and events around the beautiful and fascinating Cowal Peninsula. Leave the crowds behind. Enjoy peace and tranquillity amongst lochs, glens and mountains only 90 minutes away from Glasgow.

Be part of our 20th anniversary! This well established, annual walking and outdoor Festival is one of the largest and most varied in Scotland. Led by experienced and knowledgeable guides, we offer exciting, rewarding and interesting walks and events, catering for all ages and abilities. This includes walk/talks covering a variety of interests, such as bird watching, heritage, geology, photography, and much more.

CowalFest Argyll 2023 is organised by Cowal Walking Festival Association — a ‘not for profit’ group of local volunteers, who draw support from the people, communities, organisations and businesses throughout the Cowal Peninsula.

PROGRAMME

The festival features approximately 60 events including 25 core walks, 10 special interest activities, 10 family and children and 10 Young Scot activities.

Some of these events will be free and others will have a small charge.

Setting out from Cairndow, this is a circular walk, fairly flat on gravel tracks from car park to Cairndow vilage, with lovely views up Loch Fyne. Very short steeper stretch on return leg when we walk along the road past the historic Cairndow Church and complete a loop past Ardkinglas House along the Loch. Return the same way through Cairndow. This walk incorporates part of the Cowal Pilgrimage Trail. Food available to purchase at the Tree Shop cafe.
